Getting around

Belize is very small, making it easy to get around.

Most travelers arriving by air will arrive in Belize City. From Belize City, there are a few different options for getting to other destinations around the country. Water taxis depart from Belize City to the popular islands Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye regularly. Another option for getting to the cayes is taking a short regional flight, although the water taxi is typically a much cheaper option than flying.

Buses connect Belize City with other popular destinations, like Placencia. Renting a car is also an option in Belize. The main roads are in good condition, but more rural roads may be unpaved and require driving a 4×4 vehicle.
