Alfama District


Visit the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos a beautiful monastery. Go to the main chapel to see the Tomb of Vasco da Gama.

Walking Tour

Learn the history of the Padrão dos Descobrimentos also known as the Monument to the Discoveries in Belem.

The Funiculars

Past Rossio Square, at the top metro station, you'll find Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara.

This Miradouro offers fantastic views of Bairro Alto, another of Lisbon's oldest neighborhoods.

City Views


Walk to the famous Praça do Comércio or Commerce Square. Along the way, you can stop to see the Santa Justa Lift, an impressive outdoor elevator.


North of the Avenida da Liberdade walk to the very top of Parque Eduardo VII, and see incredible views across the manicured lawns.
