  1. Hi there Amanda!

I can’t seem to find a contact email so I’ll post here 🙂

First off – love the Blog! I am writing to understand more about your sponsored content partnership. I have a new startup that I am looking to get some traction with and I think your site might be a great one to work with. It’s a great tool for your solo travelers to put in their tool bag.

Gigplanit is a platform for travelers to find cool short term gigs all over the world. The idea is that there are lots of people looking to travel and may just jump on a plane with no plans for how to make some cash when they get there. There are also hundreds of thousands of small businesses all over the world looking for high quality, perhaps seasonal workers that have really cool gigs but can’t always find the right fit.

At Gigplanit you can post gigs and find gigs. It’s really that easy. Make a profile, tell the world what your skills and talents are – have them find you or search for that next stop. Do a great job, get kudos from your employer to help you build credibility to get your next one. If you are business, find high quality talent that match your needs and check out their ratings with former employers.

I’d love to understand what the cost looks like to partner up with you and if you feel it would be a good fit. I’m thinking something as simple as a blog post about a cool new startup that can help would-be travelers have another tool in their bag.

Thanks very much for your time and keep having a blast seeing the world. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

    Best!

    Tom

    Hi Amanda!

I follow for a while and I am loving it, that is why I decided to white to you hoping that you will find my story interesting and willing to write about it. I also traveled alone for 3 months in Europe and it was one of my best holyday ever.

I am Bianca and together with my boyfriend Adi we moved from Bucharest to a small village called Cașva, situated in the heart of Romania, Transilvania area. Cașva it’s the place where Adrian’s parents and grandparents grew up, lived and definitely fell in love with it.

Shortly after moving here, almoust two years ago, we started feeling a need to give something back to this place and its people. We want to express our gratitude for what they had offered to Adrian as a child and also for the wonderful times still to come.

We want to relocate, recondition and improve a traditional old wood and cob house and transform it into a small guesthouse with three rooms for accommodation. The house is donated to us by a friend and neighbour, who wants to demolish and was build by her parents in 1961 and wasn’t inhabited for almoust three years, that’s why it will need a lot of recondition and repairs. We will keep the stone foundation, and recuperate as much as we can from the walls, beams, floor ,roof tiles, windows and doors. We will use the same materials as the ones used when the house was first build, preserving as much of its architecture.

We are trying to encourage rural tourism around this area, to involve local people in our project and to show them that the inheritance from their ancestors can help them even in these modern times when technology seems to overtake everything.

By restoring the house and working the land, we protect our architectural and cultural heritage, integrate the villagers in this project by working with local craftsmen and gardeners and show them that tourism is a reliable alternative for them.

We want to make local arts and crafts known and revive forgotten traditions. In the future we want to save as many houses as we can and transform them into guesthouses, places to work for craftsman in the area and a barn, to transform it into a restaurant.
Because our resources are not enough to develop this project by ourselves, we need help to transform this house into a guesthouse. We started a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo platform – http://igg.me/at/casva – where we offer some great pearks in return for help. Any kind of help is received with immense gratitude and appreciation! We would be more than happy if you share our story or write about it.

We are very enthusiastic about this project and we hope we will be able to host you here some day!

Thank you in advance! We are looking forward for your answer!

Hi Bianca! I’ll be sure to check out the link, and I wish you guys the best of luck!

My husband and I are planning a trip to Oahu in mid Sept 2015. Any help you can offer about Oahu on a budget?. LIke places to eat, must she’s and do’s would be wonderful. Thank You. Enjoyed reading about all of your travels.

Hi Barb! I do have a handful of posts on Hawaii that you might want to read (head over to my Destinations page, then click on the US – you’ll find all my Hawaii content listed there). It’s been 4 years since I was on Oahu, so I’m afraid I can’t make any recommendations about places to eat (except Leonard’s for malasadas!).

But as for budget activities… you can use TheBus to get around if you don’t have a car; you could easily spend a whole day taking the bus around the island, stopping off at beaches along the way. I would also highly recommend Pearl Harbor (free AND a really great site to see), and snorkeling at Hanauma Bay (not far from Honolulu). I also did a Circle Island tour while I was there, which was a great way to see a lot of sites in one day for a decent price. A lot of people go to the Polynesian Cultural Center, too, but that’s on the pricier side of things. I also went to Kualoa Ranch, where a lot of movies and TV shows have been filmed.

Ty for your suggestions. If you have any more, please let me know. Happy Adventures!.

    Hey Amanda,

I’m writing an article for the Christchruch Press – Sounds the Same – What’s the difference between Doubtful and Milford Sound. I’d really like to quote you ‘it was all ours for the day; we weren’t sharing it with anybody else’ although I need to know your surname to do this…..

Is it ok? I’ll send you a full PDF if Ken decides to publish it.

    Cheers,

    SB aka Blondini006

Absolutely! I will send you an e-mail (using the one you left when leaving this comment).
