Each Saturday from now on, I’ll be sharing a photo with you from my travels around the world.

This week, the photo comes from the Matanuska Glacier near Sutton, Alaska.

I still maintain that glacier hiking is one of the coolest, most adventurous activities I have ever done. The particular hike pictured below took place on the Matanuska Glacier in August, 2012. This glacier near Sutton, Alaska is one of the most impressive I've seen up close. Not only does it have dramatic ice formations (not pictured), but the surrounding scenery is pretty dramatic, too. Can you spot the people in this shot? Hiking on a glacier is definitely a great way to be reminded just how small you are in the grand scheme of things.
