Today’s photo was taken while hiking the Queen Charlotte Track in New Zealand’s Marlborough Sounds. Don’t be fooled into thinking that these trees are tropical palms — they are actually ferns. The fern (especially the silver fern) is one of New Zealand’s national symbols, and it was cool to see a lot of them up-close on this hike.
