I have an odd sense of humor. I know this. And I sometimes feel like this sense of humor is only heightened when I’m traveling. I’m always on the lookout for a funny sign or statue or person while on the road. And I inevitably find many things to take wacky photos of that friends and family back home will simply look at with blank, I’m-not-sure-how-to-respond expressions when I share them.
But I share them anyway. So hereĀ is a collection of things I found amusing on my recent trip to Seattle, Alaska and Canada. Hopefully you’ll see the humor in some of them, too.

Which are your favorites? I want to know!

Oh, I take pictures of signs, billboards, newspaper headlines, pictures of pictures that other people have already taken…and phone booths. getting more rare by the year!
Glad I’m not the only one! And yeah, I like phonebooths, too. Especially the really old-school ones.
Awesome! I love taking pictures of wacky signs and/or people when traveling, or honestly when in my hometown as well. When in Argentina we were fascinated by the huge mullet trend amongst men, so we started stealthily taking pictures of mullets. It just makes traveling that much more fun. Thanks for sharing. I especially love the one of the Sarah Palin one. I can’t believe there’s a store for her. What is the world coming to?
Oh man… the mullet photos sound hilarious. Totally something I would do, too!
Love these!! I’m with you all, taking pictures of the wacky and unusual along the way. My guy had to try Moose Drool beer when we stumbled on it – how can you not?!
Thanks! And yes, there’s no way to pass up something called Moose Drool beer.
Oh my these are so funny! My family takes pictures of odd signs and things too when we travel. You can find such funny things! I’m so glad you posted these, very fun to see!
Thanks so much! I’m glad you found them as amusing as I did.
I like funny signs of all sorts, too. (I did a post of some favorites a while back: http://dangerousbusiness.wordpress.com/2010/05/17/that-sign-said-what/)
Love the collection
My favourites are the Moose Drool Beer (yuck), the Ass road, and the sentimental Darth Vader!
In Australia and NZ, we have fun taking pictures of street signs. Kiwis love to express the road shapes in detail, and both countries have a lot of exotic animal street signs.
Have you seen any “Slump” signs in NZ? Those were my favorite.
